Storyline โ€” the Shockโ€™s surge

The St. Louis Shock have been the story of the summer, taking back-to-back titles in St. Louis and St. Pete and staying unbeaten in matches since late May behind Anna Bright, Kate Fahey, Gabe Tardio and Hayden Patriquin. New Jersey answered an early stumble with wins in Columbus and Austin, while the Mad Drops keep reaching finals only to meet the Shock. With the Mid-Season Tournament next (July 8โ€“12, alongside the Beer City Open and featuring all 20 teams plus guest national squads), seeding for the expanded playoffs is still wide open.
